Governance Committees
Ensuring Continuous Quality Improvement
The Curriculum Committee and its subcommittees oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure that medical students are able to achieve the 12 Competencies Required of the Contemporary Physician, the University of Virginia School of Medicine educational program objectives.
These committees are also responsible for developing, reviewing, and monitoring the program of assessment that measures students’ achievement of the program objectives and to use this information in the evaluation of the curriculum.
