University of Virginia Kaylee Underkofler, MD, MPH, GynOnc Fellow

Kaylee Underkofler, MD, MPH
Third Year Fellow

Dr. Underkofler was born and raised in Upstate New York. She attended Ithaca College, where she graduated with a degree in Biochemistry before earning a master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her medical degree and master’s degree in public health from the Tufts University-Maine Medical Center joint program. She returned to Upstate New York for residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Rochester before moving south to the University of Virginia (UVA) for the gynecologic oncology fellowship.

Dr. Underkofler’s research interests include rural health care access, hereditary cancer genetics, and the influence of exercise & nutrition on cancer outcomes. When she is not working, Dr. Underkofler enjoys spending time with her family, triathlon training, and cooking pasta from scratch.

Kathryn Dryer, MD
Second Year Fellow

Dr. Dryer grew up in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs in Minnesota. She attended Williams College, where she majored in Chemistry. She spent a year as a medical scribe prior to earning her medical degree at the University of Chicago. She then completed her residency training in obstetrics & gynecology at the University of Wisconsin before moving to Charlottesville for gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of Virginia. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Dryer enjoys traveling to see family and friends, spending time outdoors, and perfecting the art of charcuterie.

Madison Klavans

Madison Klavans, MD
First Year Fellow

Dr. Klavans grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and went to college at Emory University in Atlanta where she studied International Politics and Italian. After college she went to Tulane University for medical school and then completed residency at UVA. Madison Klavans, MD stayed at UVA as an academic generalist for one year and now very excited to stay for another 3 years for fellowship!

Jaime Kiff, MD
University of Oklahoma

Dr. Kiff grew up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and began competing in gymnastics at an early age, continuing through the collegiate level at Oregon State University. There, she earned a degree in Biology. After graduation, she worked as a medical scribe in a gynecologic oncology clinic, where she quickly developed a passion for the specialty. She went on to earn her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by an OBGYN residency at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. Dr. Kiff then moved to Charlottesville to pursue a gynecologic oncology fellowship at UVA.

Outside of work, Dr. Kiff enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.
