Drs. Alan & Julie MatsumotoIn recognition of Drs. Alan and Julie Matsumoto for their more than 32 years of service and commitment to UVA Radiology, in 2024 the department created a $3 million endowment in their honor through philanthropy and matching dollars from the department. The average yearly projected investment returns are distributed to the department and used to advance innovation, clinical programs, and education in diagnostic and interventional radiology as well as the imaging sciences. Whether these funds are used to support faculty effort, infrastructural costs, or leadership development is at the discretion of the department chair.
