Free Skin Cancer Screening @ UVA Dermatology

The screening is in the UVA Primary Care Center, 1221 Lee Street, Third Floor, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
Get a free skin cancer screening by a UVA Health dermatologist and learn how to protect yourself and your family from skin cancer.
You should get screened if you:
– Are frequently exposed to the sun and UV light
– Have a family history of skin cancer
– Have a mole that has changed in shape, color or size or a sore that won’t heal
To sign up, call 800.223.9173 and mention the free screening.
Parking is always free for patients in the 11th Street Garage.
You can also bring a baseball cap or visor to exchange for a new sun hat, while supplies last!

Health Expo hosted by the Health Wagon at the Wise County fairgrounds in July on the 18th, 29th, and 30th  from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. UVACC will be in attendance. More details to follow.

 

 

Past Event Information:

Move Mountains Medical Missions, an annual event expanding free medical, dental and vision care formerly offered by The Health Wagon and Remote Area Medical (RAM). Move Mountains Medical Missions will be hosted by The Health Wagon at the Wise County Fairgrounds in Wise, Virginia. The Health Wagon will collaborate with the Virginia Dental Association Foundation’s Mission of Mercy project to provide dental care. Mission of Mercy dental clinic will be held simultaneously at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise’s Convocation Center. Free medical, dental and vision services will continue to be offered, including stronger access to specialty and diagnostic health care services. The new health outreach will likely include longtime founding partner The Lions Club.

Breast Cancer Screening Landscape Webinar

Please join Dr. Priya Ganti on September 13, 2023 from 12-1pm for the next webinar on the Breast Cancer Screening Landscape. Dr. Ganti, MD, PhD, is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Fellowship trained in breast imaging.  In addition to her clinical role, she is the director of breast MRI for the UVA breast imaging division.  Her additional areas of interest include care for underserved women locally, regionally, and globally.

Join us to learn about the latest breast cancer screening information including guidelines, best practices, issues, and policies with a focus on interventions that can reduce barriers to cancer screening.
