Student Resources
About
The Office for Student Affairs supports medical students during their time at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and provides personal, professional, and academic guidance. Through our advising program within the four Colleges, led by Drs., Archbald-Pannone, Densmore, Redick, Reed, and Trimble, we provide students with the tools they need to thrive.
Student Wellness
We provide holistic support for medical students both in and out of the classroom as they navigate their training. Our students have access to personal wellness advising, learning environment initiatives, and academic support to thrive throughout their medical school experience.
Career Advising
Each student’s primary career advisor is initially their College Dean. After they have selected a specialty, a residency advisor in that specialty helps them navigate the application and Match process.
Calendars & Events
As students progress through the MD Program, it is critical to stay on track with Clerkship schedules, tuition-fee due dates, vacations and dates for important events such as the White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, and Graduation.
Student Advocacy
We are committed to promoting and supporting a safe, welcoming and professional learning environment for students in the School of Medicine. If you feel you have experienced mistreatment or unprofessional behavior, there are a variety of ways to file a report.
Student Government: Mulholland Society
Serving as a coherent student voice, the Mulholland Society endeavors to promote the various interests and concerns of all medical students to the faculty and staff of the Health System.
Diversity & Inclusion
In our Office for Diversity, we are committed to ensure that diversity is more than just a buzzword, and that our culture and community actually reflect the values of inclusion and fairness.
