In 2011, a SOM committee wrote a report about better integrating LGBTQ health issues and cases into the medical school curriculum. They made a variety of recommendations which have not been fully implemented. Dr. Canterbury and Dr. Innes would like to revive this task force and want to re-examine the 2011 report and its recommendations. They are asking for at least one person from each med school year to serve. This is an excellent way to become more involved in shaping the curriculum here at UVA. RSVP to me ASAP if you would like to volunteer or would like to nominate someone to be on this committee. Dr. Canterbury and Dr. Innes are both a pleasure to work with and would like to start working on this soon. I have a copy of the 2011 report to share once you volunteer.
