Timeline
In early July, attend the two-week summer session which introduces students to: a) the basic issues and challenges facing primary care medicine, b) the local community and its needs, c) the nature of the scholarship project and associated requirements, d) the group community service project, e) GSP students and faculty, and f) shadowing and preceptorship experiences.
August – December
Attend regular bi-weekly GSP curricular and student-faculty lunches
Participate in student-initiated activities such as journal club, a retreat, community service projects, etc.
August – September
Make a brief, 5 minute presentation on a case of interest from the summer preceptorship experience
Meet with GSP mentor

Set date for Primary Care Week for the coming year; Plan Primary Care Week sessions

Participate in MSSRP; Begin GSP scholarship project and make substantial progress as per timeline agreed upon with GSP Scholarship Coordinator and GSP mentor
Finalize speakers and sessions for Primary Care Week

- Compose and submit a letter to the editor on a topic related to primary care. Send a copy of your letter to the GSP administrator via email to be shared with the GSP community.
- Compose a written (100-200 words) reflection on a meaningful clinical experience. Submit a copy of the reflection to the GSP administrator via email to be shared with the GSP community.
- Select a primary care topic of interest and prepare a brief presentation (10 – 15 minutes) to be presented to the GSP community at a curricular lunch session.
- Propose an activity of similar scope and magnitude as the above that would be meaningful and appropriate to share with the GSP community.
