Kant Y.K. Lin, MD

LinCV06182014Dr. Lin is currently Professor of Plastic Surgery, Chief of the Division of Craniofacial Surgery, in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Virginia Health System. He trained in general surgery and plastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and did an additional pediatric craniomaxillofacial fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada before coming to Charlottesville. He is the immediate past president of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery and the current president of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has authored over 80 articles in peer reviewed journals, over 20 book chapters as well as several books including one of the definitive texts in craniofacial surgery, entitled “Craniofacial Surgery: Science and Surgical Technique”. He has received over 15 research grants and has presented 50 abstracts at scientific meetings. He has been a visiting professor at over 20 universities in both the United States and around the world. His work has been recognized with numerous awards including the Bernd Spiessl Research Award as well as the Sarnat Award for Basic Science Research.
