Resource Statement

Research Histology has 2 tissue processors: a Tissue Tek specifically for Bouin’s fixed tissue, and a Thermo Excelsior for formalin fixed tissues. We use a Histocore embedding station for preparing paraffin blocks and 2 Leica RM2255 semiautomated microtomes to section the blocks to slides. Additionally, we have an NX50 Cryostar cryostat for frozen tissues. Hematoxylin & Eosin staining is performed on an Epredia Gemini AS. Coverslipping slides and special stains are performed manually.
