Mohamad El Moheb, MD
Research Resident
Medical School: American University of Beirut
I was born in Lebanon, spent my childhood in Greece, and then moved back to Lebanon when I turned 18. I attended the American University of Beirut for both my undergrad and med school. After that, I headed to Boston for two years, working as a research fellow in the Trauma Division at Massachusetts General Hospital. The amazing culture and strong academic reputation of the general surgery residency program are among the many things that drew me to UVA. I am currently a research fellow in Dr. Tsung’s lab. My interests lie in using AI to improve surgical care, and I’m currently pursuing a master’s in data science at UVA.
When I’m not at the hospital, my wife and I love to explore new eateries. We’re both big-time foodies, and Charlottesville has been a treat! We’ve already tried more than 50 restaurants, and our goal is to try every single one before the end of my residency. I also love traveling, especially when there’s food involved.
