Lung Cancer: My laboratory has a long-standing interest in understanding how dysregulated transcription factors drive cellular programs that promote lung cancer development and metastasis. More Americans will die of lung cancer this year than from any other type of malignancy. Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common subtype and one of the most deadly forms of lung cancer, because it acquires the ability to avoid cell death programs, invade surrounding tissues, and metastasize to secondary organs. Our research focuses on identifying and disarming transcriptional programs required for lung cancer metastasis.
