Gastroenterology (GI) TRT
The goal of the GI TRT is to develop cross-Grounds collaborations in GI cancers and to translate research into improved health for the citizens of Virginia. Headed by clinical, basic science, and population science GI cancer researchers, TRT members primarily study colorectal, pancreatic, and liver cancers, although research on cancer affecting any organ within the gastroenterology system is relevant. The GI TRT meets on the third Thursday of each month to discuss current research and identify opportunities for collaboration. Each June, the GI TRT issues an RFA for pilot awards to support GI cancer initiatives.
