Hello! I grew up in the suburbs of Richmond, VA and then went down the road to Charlottesville for undergrad. I graduated from UVA in 2011, majoring in Biology and Anthropology. As an undergrad, I worked with Student Health as a peer health educator and learned about health promotion on a college level. I then spent a year with AmeriCorps VISTA in McAllen/Edinburg, Texas learning about health and wellness promotion at a community level. Working as a wellness coordinator at a K-12 school, I organized healthy eating and physical activities for students and their families. This experience solidified my passion for community engagement and emphasized the importance of a holistic approach to health. The field of primary care closely aligns with these notions, which led me to GSP.

The Generalist Scholars Program has been a place where I have been able to connect with peers and faculty who share similar views and approaches to medicine. It has helped nurture my excitement for primary care and has been invaluable in my education. Outside of school, you’ll find me exploring a new restaurant, going on runs, or attempting to bake.
