Terminal lucidity in patients with chronic schizophrenia and dementia: A survey of the literature

This article summarizes 81 published case reports of the unexpected and unexplained return of mental clarity and memory shortly before death, in patients who had lost their mental faculties for many years as a result of chronic schizophrenia or dementia.
