Maynard, Rachael

Rachael Maynard obtained her M.P.H. in Health Education from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and her B.S. in Biology from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She joined the BHT team in 2011 to coordinate the adult insomnia research trial.

Rachael has previously worked as a research assistant for a web and phone-based program to prevent depression in those with epilepsy. While in graduate school, she did work assessing the nutritional knowledge, beliefs and practices of Emory’s undergraduate student athletes and developed a worksite wellness program focusing on nutrition, physical activity and stress management.

When not trying to help adults get better sleep, Rachael can be found reading any and every food blog, exploring her new world of all things Virginia (so long as it’s outside) or cooking up a storm in her kitchen (she bakes a mean muffin).
