Cowen, Emily

Emily studied in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Biology. She joined the Center for Behavioral Health and Technology in the summer of 2016 volunteering under Dr. Karen Ingersoll.  Emily enjoyed both working on the Center’s developing online interventions and interacting with participants through the ArchieMD study. She is particularly interested in the interdependency between mental and general physical health, and hopes to later attend medical school and pursue a career in psychiatry. Outside of the CBHT, Emily is a Peer Health Educator and volunteers at the University of Virginia hospital. She also enjoys hiking, seeing concerts, attending Final Fridays at the Fralin, and watching dogs on the Lawn.
