Update 5/12/17: Dustin will be attending Medical School at the University of Virginia after graduating in May. He will continue to work at BHT during the summer or 2017.

Dustin is a 3rd year student, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. His UIP internship position is research intern under Dr. Karen Ingersoll. The main project that he has been working on is Bump2be which aims to help women with type I diabetes manage their blood glucose well enough to have safe pregnancies. Also, he is currently doing research in the biology department on the inheritance of mitochondria in the American Bellflower. Dustin is hoping to have a career in medicine and wants to keep his options open on specialties and career paths. He believes he will have a partially academic career with research interests in immunology and neurology, but would also like to treat patients. When he is not working on schoolwork or MCAT study guides, he loves to spend his free time working out, running, playing sports, and watching professional and UVA sports with friends.
