Director Mary Faith Marshall is consulted for KHN article on recent Texas “inappropriate treatment” case.

Dr. Marshall is consulted in a Kaiser Health News article about the case of Tinslee Lewis, a Texas baby at the center of a dispute between family and health care providers over the continuation of life-sustaining treatment.  While the financial cost “plays little role in these conflicts,” Dr. Marshall points out the distress clinicians may feel when providing treatment they feel is not only inappropriate, but may cause patients to suffer.  Read the article here:  the link is https://khn.org/news/texas-law-highlights-dilemma-over-care-for-patients-with-no-hope-of-survival/
