Research/Clinical Interests
Dr. Pinkham joined UVA faculty in 2023. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Virginia in 2008. After his Ph.D., he worked as a physicist for the U.S. Army RDECOM Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate, where he helped develop laser-based technologies for remote-sensing applications. In 2014 he completed a Medical Physics Certificate didactic program at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2016, he completed a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Residency at Stanford University. His clinical and research interests include surface-guided radiation therapy, brachytherapy, deformable image registration, small-field dosimetry, machine quality assurance, and the improvement of clinical quality and safety through workflow optimization.
