Health Affairs, a leading journal of health policy thought and research, recently published a widely-read article from Dr. Matthew Meyer, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, about how health systems can become more environmentally sustainable. Dr. Meyer is a leading researcher on the subject, a steering-committee member of Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action, and co-chair of the UVA Health Sustainability Committee. He also co-founded Periop Green, whose goal is to develop technology to reduce operating room waste to the least amount possible. Outstanding work and stewardship, Dr. Meyer!
Dr. Meyer was also awarded NIH iThriv funding for a new project (~$50K)—joint venture between UVA/VT/Inova.
