How to Apply

First Year Trainees

The University of Virginia Psychiatry Residency Training Program accepts applications for PGY-1 applications through ERAS only.

We prefer applicants who:

  • have a demonstrated interest in psychiatry.
  • have excellent clinical skills.
  • have passed the USMLE or COMLEX tests on first attempt.
  • have graduated within the last 3 years.

We support J1 visas only.

We review and assess each application on its individual merits.
