Annual End-of-Year Gallery Walk

- Date and Time: Thursday, April 11th, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
- Location: Greear Gym, University of Virginia’s College at Wise, 1 College Ave, Wise, VA 24293
- Details: Over the course of the FamHealth Project, the students have refined their messages to resonate with six target groups. Using engaging videos, they will depict common scenarios students and community members face, providing practical guidance in navigating these challenges. (See Flyer for more details)
The next quarterly SWVA CAB Meeting is Thursday, May 30th, 10 am -2 pm at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Room 222
This in-person meeting will provide a virtual option. A lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.

Join Iglesia Neuva Vida at their community fair. There will be health services, information on vaccines, education, activities for kids and food for sale. A COE team member will provide cancer-related information at this event.
The task force aims to prioritize, act on, and decrease cancer disparities in the region, ensuring proactive cancer screenings and vaccinations. The next meeting is scheduled for July 22, 1- 3 pm, at the United Way Meeting Space in Danville. For more information, contact Ashley Banegas.
The Sunbeatables program begins a 16-course at Buena Vista City Public Schools- FW Kling ES on August 27, 2024.
The University of Virginia’s Comprehensive Cancer Center works with school programs to implement Ray and the Sunbeatables®: A Sun Safety Curriculum. This free, evidence-based curriculum educates children, parents, and teachers about sun protection and promotes sun safety behaviors to reduce children’s lifetime risk of developing skin cancer. The curriculum was developed by the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
