Dr. Stephen Park grew up outside Detroit, Michigan and received his BA from Amherst College before returning home to attend the University of Michigan Medical School. He graduated in 1988 and then moved back to Boston for his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the combined program of Tufts-Boston University. Dr. Park then completed a year of fellowship training in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Portland, Oregon. In 1994 he came to the University of Virginia as Director of the Division of Facial Plastic Surgery, in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. Effective September 1, 2017, he assumed the role of Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Park currently serves as a director for the American Board of Otolaryngology and is on the executive council for the Triological Society. He is the past vice-chair of the Residency Review Committee for Otolaryngology and the past-president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He is internationally renown in topics of facial plastic surgery, especially rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction.
The father of two grown boys, he and his wife Eileen live in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is an avid golfer and remains active in many outdoor activities. They have traveled to many parts of the world, particularly to Asia.
