This opportunity is open to a limited number of competitive applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence, strong leadership, and a variety of extra-curricular experiences. Students should be strongly motivated to pursue a career in pediatrics. The program is open to applicants who are first-generation medical school attendees, socioeconomically disadvantaged students, individuals who have overcome substantial educational or economic obstacles, and students who come from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine (Black/African‐American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native, and LGBTQ+).
Requirements
- Must attend an LCME‐accredited medical school
- Be on track to complete all required clerkships at the home institution
- Completed VSLO application (should include letters of recommendation and medical school transcript, Curriculum Vitae, USMLE Step 1 score report, 2×2 photograph, and Step 2 score report if available)
- Personal statement on why you want to participate in this program and how it will help
you achieve your overall career goals
