Students are responsible for policies from the university and UVA Health. Know where to find them so that you can return to the sites(s) for UVA/academic policies and UVA Health System policies when needed.

Email policy from UVA Health System

Since you just received your UVA Health email (@uvahealth.org), please read the email policy from UVA Health.

Generative AI policy

Make sure you have read and are VERY familiar with UVA SOM MD Program’s Policy on Generative AI. Pay extra special attention to the given examples so you have a solid understanding of how we use Gen AI here.

Other policies

A small subset of students who handle sensitive data (typically engaged in a research effort) will have additional policy requirements for information security and data protection. Contact Mr. Moody for more information.

Suspicious email and IT security incidents

If you receive a suspicious email, forward it to abuse@virginia.edu . There is a site where you can view the security alerts currently affecting UVA . Security incidents should be reported to: UVA/academic security and UVA Health System security.
