Hobbies/Outside Interests: I really enjoy playing League of Legends and Magic the Gathering. I also paint tabletop miniatures, usually with Barbie or Hello Kitty themes instead of the typical war aesthetic. I love embroidery too, especially when I can make custom scrub caps for friends or adorn Squishmallows with flowers for my nieces. If I’m being honest though, my favorite hobby is probaby eating fried chicken on the couch while watching k-dramas.
Favorite things to do in Charlottesville: Finding my go-to fried chicken place.
Why did you choose UVA? I’ve experienced my fair share of failures and roadblocks throughout my journey in medicine, so I knew I wanted a program that would value not only my accomplishments, but also the resilience and growth I’ve gained through those challenges. UVA was unquestionably that place from interview day. It was clear that this is a program where I would be supported and challenged to keep becoming the best version of myself. I also spent a good part of interview day talking about my pet bunny, Babu, and my favorite foods, which honestly made it feel even more like the right fit!
Anesthesiology Interests: Peds Anesthesia 🙂
Favorite Rotation: I loved my anesthesia elective in Viet Nam! I had the chance to learn in the same hospital where my family receives care while also exploring so much of my parents’ homeland. It was a really meaningful experience that deepened my love for anesthesiology and helped me feel more connected to my family’s roots.
