UVA docs make smiles brighter

Since 1997, George Politis has been active with Operation Smile, providing anesthesia and perioperative care to children in Asia (Thailand, India), Africa (Morocco, Ethiopia, Madagascar), Latin America (Ecuador, Nicaragua, Honduas, El Salvador, Mexico), and Haiti.

Dr. Politis also serves as Chair for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia Committee for International Education and Service (since 2007) and is an Active Member of the Operation Smile International Anesthesia Council.

In December, 2012, he completed his 18th Operation Smile trip, along with residents Matt Reynolds and Sabrina Dhillon.
