Hobbies/Outside Interests: I enjoy trail and long distance running, cooking and baking, video and board games, taking care of house plants and gardening.

Things you look forward to doing in Charlottesville: I look forward to running trails, spending time with my wife, Ester, and exploring the outdoors.

Why did you choose UVA? My wife and I love the Charlottesville area and we ‘couples matched’ to UVA. She is currently an obstetrics and gynecology resident. It is evident the anesthesiologists at UVA love their jobs and enjoy sharing their knowledge through teaching residents. It is an exceptional place to grow as an anesthesiologist.

Anesthesiology Interests: I am most interested in critical care. I like the acute nature of the ICU and broad spectrum of patients we see. I find the medical management of patients in the ICU to be engaging and thought provoking, and I can see myself becoming an intensivist in the future.

Favorite Rotation:  Thoracic, cardiac, and vascular post operative unit and trauma ICU
