First Look at UVA – September 15, 2018

First Look at UVA is designed for 3rd and 4th year medical students who are interested in learning more about training at UVA Medical Center.  This day is planned for students who are a member of any group historically underrepresented in Medicine, as well as anyone with a passion for increasing the diversity of our physician workforce.

The GME Office and Housestaff Council for Diversity and Inclusion are sponsoring the First Look event during the recruitment season to give applicants an opportunity to openly ask questions about our training programs and about living in Charlottesville.

If you’re interested in attending, please register through this link.

We accept applications only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). A complete application includes:
  • NRMP application form
  • Medical School Dean’s Letter
  • United States Medical Licensing Exam Scores
(Step 1 required, Step 2 optional)
  • Medical School Transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation (two letters from Emergency Medicine faculty preferred)
  • Personal Statement

We do accept J-1 Visas.

Once a complete application has been received through ERAS, a selection committee will review it. Interviews are by invitation only and will be scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays between October 2016 and January 2017.
