Application Process
UVA Emergency Medicine offers 12 categorical PGY-1 Emergency Medicine Resident positions each year through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We accept applications only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). A complete application includes:
- NRMP application form
- Medical School Dean’s Letter
- United States Medical Licensing Exam Scores – no minimum required score
(Step 1 required, Step 2 optional) - Medical School Transcripts
- Minimum of one SLOE
- Personal Statement
We do accept J-1 Visas.
Once a complete application has been received through ERAS, a selection committee will review it. Interviews are by invitation only and will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between October and January.
Interview Season 2024-2025
Interviews will be hybrid this year, half Zoom and half in-person. Interviews will run from October 2024 through January 2025.
