Ellie recently graduated from Washington and Lee University with a B.S. in Neuroscience and spent her last semester abroad studying neuroscience in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ellie has a thirst for knowledge, a passion for science, and a deep desire to help people. She is a quick and avid learner, aiming to build upon her preliminary research skills for academic and scientific advancement.

Camron is a 2nd year student who plans to major in Neuroscience. He is very passionate about the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, and how 3D human brain organoids can be developed to uncover medicine treatment strategies. Outside of the lab, he enjoys playing/watching soccer and going to the gym.

Nick is a 3rd year from McLean, Virginia pursuing a double major in Biology and Psychology. Neurodegenerative disorders, both their causes and progression are a fascinating topic for Nick, and he felt compelled to study with Dr. Jiang when he read about the work being done in her lab. Outside of the lab, Nick enjoys lifting weights, watching nature documentaries, and trying new restaurants around Charlottesville.

Kelvin Chen

Kelvin is from Newport News, VA, but grew up in Fujian, China. He is currently a second-year pursuing a double major in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a minor in Bioethics, and he is studying the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease based on organoid and animal models in the lab. Outside of the lab, Kelvin enjoys reading sci-fi and manga, theorizing about extraterrestrial intelligence, and TAing chemistry laboratory courses.

Tiana Richardson

Tiana is a 3rd year biochemistry and sociology major on the premed track. She is interested in research projects on the pathology and development of treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Outside of the lab, Tiana loves to spend her free time watching horror movies, reading science fiction, travelling with friends, working, and taking naps!
