Hey! My name is Chanel Rutledge and I was born and raised in New York City.  I completed my undergraduate education at Binghamton University and received my medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.

Throughout medical school, I have crossed paths with many alumni from the general surgery program at UVA as well as current residents who introduced me to the amazing culture, quality of education, mentorship and the excellent technical training at UVA. I am beyond thrilled to begin my surgical training at such a supportive program where I will learn from giants in the surgery field as well as from the diverse patient population. I am currently interested in surgical oncology, breast oncology and minimally invasive surgery.

In my free time I love to travel, try new food, create travel recap videos, attend concerts, reformer pilates classes, event planning and spending time with family and friends. I am excited to explore my hobbies while living in Charlottesville!
