Welcome to UVA Surgery!

I was born and raised in North Carolina and studied biostatistics at UNC-Chapel Hill. After undergrad, I worked for a year at a primary care clinic before coming to UVA for medical school. I had a great time rotating on several different surgery services as a medical student. I found the UVA community to be one of a kind, and it was a huge reason why I wanted to stay for residency. The residents here are amazingly supportive, fun to be around, and incredibly competent. The attendings are phenomenal educators who are invested in my training and growth. I’m interested in clinical outcomes research, so I’m grateful for the vast research opportunities and mentorship available here. This program is truly dedicated to your development as a future academic surgeon. Charlottesville is also such a charming town with great restaurants, vineyards, and nearby hiking spots with Shenandoah National Park right next door. And I love being close by D.C. and Richmond for day/weekend trips.

I’m so excited to be spending the next 7 years here at UVA for my surgical training!
