Welcome to UVA Surgery! I am from Louisville, Kentucky and attended Miami University of Ohio for undergrad where I was a Zoology major and Music Performance minor. I returned to Louisville to attend medical school. Go Cards! What first drew me to the UVA Surgery program was the amazing people I met at my interview seven years ago and this has continued to be one of the best parts of our program. UVA is a place where you will make lifelong friends and colleagues. There are also ample opportunities to pursue your career goals whether that is through leadership, education, research, or more! I spent two years doing surgical oncology research and have matched into Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Not only am I thrilled to train at MDACC, but I also get to be co-fellows with my co-resident and friend, Rick Vavolizza!
Charlottesville is a great place to live and be a surgical resident. I have enjoyed trying all of the restaurants and taking in beautiful views at the many wineries. I am in love with our program and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
