My name is Monroe McKay, and I’m in the integrated cardiothoracic surgery program. I was born and raised in Little Rock, AR and completed undergrad at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I attended the University of Arkansas for medical school, and I am incredibly grateful to have matched at UVA. The program has a long history of training leaders in cardiothoracic surgery, and the faculty are here to support you through every step of your training. My wife and I love living in Charlottesville. Saturday football tailgates and scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway are just a couple things that make this place feel like home. Outside of medicine, I enjoy training for endurance sports, classical piano, podcasts, and spending time with my wife and family.
