Our residency program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). ERAS has announced a delayed schedule due to COVID-19 and will open for programs to review applications on October 21, 2020.
In the meantime, there are many ways for you to participate in some of our activities remotely. We’d love for you to join us for our Physics Boot Camp, Journal Pub or Radiation Oncology Open Houses. Please see Ways to Participate for more information. Also, the GME Office is putting on a three-part Zoom series to kick-off the recruitment season and introduce medical students to graduate medical education training at UVA Health: Virtual Residency Trail – What’s Happening at UVA?
The 2021 interview season will begin in October of 2020 (rather than September) when applicants can apply through ERAS and we will receive the applications. Our Program Director will review all applications and select candidates to interview. We will be interviewing for one position in the 2021 interview season. Invitations usually go out by the end of October.
This year we will have three interview dates:
- Friday, November 20, 2020
- Friday, December 11, 2020
- Friday, January 15, 2021
Once we have completed the interviews, we submit a Rank Order List to the NRMP. In mid-March we learn who we match with! The person we match with in March of 2021 will start in July of 2022.
The University of Virginia is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. Women, minorities, veterans and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
