Research Operations
The Office of Clinical Research has a robust clinical trials operations unit comprised of clinical research coordinators, research nurses and administrative support for the conduct of clinical trials. These teams are led by associate directors of clinical research operations.

The Solid Tumor Oncology Group supports subject accrual, study coordination and data management activities of all solid tumors trials including head and neck, thoracic, breast, melanoma, genitourinary and gastrointestinal oncology.
The Developmental Therapeutics/First in Human Group also operates under solid tumor oncology leadership.

The Hematologic Malignancies Group supports subject accrual, study coordination and data management activities of all hematologic malignancy trials including leukemias, lymphomas, myelomas, benign hem and Stem cell transplant.
The Cellular Therapies Research Group also operates under the hematologic malignancies leadership.

The NTRO group is comprised of unlicensed clinical research coordinators that work on managing the patient facing aspects of our non-therapeutic clinical trials and other non-interventional research.
NTRO services typically include:
- Screening clinics for eligible subjects
- Obtaining informed consent and
- Management of subjects while on the research protocol (data, specimens, surveys, follow- up visits etc.)
The NTRO team also manages all enrollments for the Partners in Discovery ORIEN program at UVA.
