CHTN

UVA leads the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN), after joining in 2011. The CHTN is funded by the National Cancer Institute and its purpose is to work with researchers to prospectively determine project needs in the procurement of human tissues and fluids from routine procedures for their research.

A color-coded map of the United States shows CHTN geographical divisions. Western Division: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington; Southern Division: Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas; Mid-Atlantic Division: Delaware, Kentucky, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia; Eastern Division: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont; Midwestern Division: Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
