Hello! I’m originally from North Carolina and came to UVA for residency after doing undergrad at Elon University and medical school at West Virginia University. I chose UVA for residency after doing an away rotation here as a student, where I was favorably impressed with the residents’ operative autonomy and the clinical expertise of the faculty. During my time in residency, I completed two years of translational research in cancer immunology. After my lab years, I fell in love with minimally invasive surgery and ultimately decided to pursue a fellowship in this area after previously considering surgical oncology and colorectal surgery. I was fortune to match at Duke University for my MIS fellowship.
