Surgery Resident
Medical School: University of Virginia

Hello! My name is Trent Ogaz, and I’m one of the preliminary general surgery residents here at UVA. I grew up just outside of Los Angeles, California before moving to Nashville for my undergraduate years and finally here to Charlottesville for medical school. I’m so excited to be staying at UVA for my surgery training; you’ll never find a more welcoming group of co-residents and faculty, and our patients are as diverse in culture as they are in pathology. Charlottesville is absolutely the place to be if you enjoy great food and wine, the outdoors, and a small town with exciting energy.

When I’m not in the hospital, I enjoy playing my saxophone, throwing New Mexican chile onto all of my food, and running much slower than my wife. I’m looking forward to exploring a variety of surgical fields this year before completing my training in anesthesiology.
