Diagnostic Radiology
Hi everyone! My name is Sam Plant, and I am currently a PGY-5 (fourth-year radiology resident), in my last year of residency training. What a journey it has been! I have loved being a part of the UVA Radiology family over the past few years. I moved to Charlottesville with my wife and our two kids from Roanoke, VA where I completed my medical school and intern year at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. While my wife and I are both originally from Idaho, we were so happy to stay in Virginia for residency, and we have all loved Charlottesville. When my wife and I aren’t busy wrangling our two crazy boys, we love spending time going on walks, golfing, playing video games, and exploring around Cville’s many restaurants, hiking trails, and scenic drives.
After completing an away rotation at UVA as a medical student and getting to meet the fabulous clinicians that work and live here, UVA easily became my top choice for where I wanted to take my family for the next chapter of our lives—and we haven’t looked back since. We will be staying at UVA for an additional year after residency to complete my fellowship training in abdominal imaging, and we are so excited for what lays ahead after that.
