My name is Katye Herring and I recently moved to Charlottesville to be the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellow. I am very excited about being here! The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology department is full of supportive, kind, humble, and hard-working attending physicians that I am honored and privileged to train under. That along with the beautiful scenery that Charlottesville has to offer is what drew me to UVA for fellowship.

Hello, I’m a 1st-year pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellow.  I am originally from El Salvador, a beautiful country with nice warm weather all year round known for its many volcanos and lakes.  I decided to come to the USA to pursuit a pediatrics residency, and so I lived in Chicago for about 2 years, completed USMLE steps and residency in NJ, and now my journey brought me here to UVA to continue my education as a Fellow.
