    In the current issue of the ASPIRE newsletter, two Emergency Medicine faculty members, Drs. Trowbridge and Mutter, along with Elgin Cleckley from the School of Architecture and Beth Quatrara from the School of Nursing, are recognized for their work towards the Empathic Design program.     Mary Bacon, MD Receives Research Award

    2018 Richard F. Edlich Medical Student Research Award in Emergency Medicine Dr. Richard F. Edlich was a very distinguished educator, physician, and healthcare champion. He contributed to the development of the UVA Burn and Would Healing Center, the North Fork Research Park, and the Emergency Medical Service at the UVA Hospital.     UVA Health System Earns Awards for Heart Attack Care

    UVA Health System's interdisciplinary heart attack team is comprised of the Heart and Vascular Center, Emergency Department and Pharmacy.     Dr. Hartka Pursues Excellence in Medical Education

    Thomas Hartka, MD, has received the Certificate of Commitment to Faculty Development in Medical Education after attending 10 workshops relating to medical education over a two-year period. The completion of this program can assist faculty members with achieving professional goals, such as promotions, tenure and applying for the Academy of Distinguished Educators.
