RESEARCH:

My research interests and activities are focused on cutaneous melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, lymphoma and cutaneous adnexal tumors. I have published several manuscripts that explored the utility of CD23 in cutaneous adnexal and neuroendocrine tumors. I have studied the role of MUM1 in cutaneous T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders and the role of g-H2AX in cutaneous melanomas. I have identified several useful markers, such as CD163 and CD33, in the subclassification of leukemia cutis. In addition, I have studied the expression of DEK in melanocytic lesions and Merkel cell carcinoma. I have authored and coauthored several articles on various aspects of melanoma, including the diagnostic utility of IMP-3 in metastatic melanoma and melanocytic lesions. I also presented several studies in cutaneous lymphomas, such as the involvement of mTOR and Grb2 signaling pathways in cutaneous lymphomas.  These research endeavors exemplify my expertise in and contributions to the study of neoplastic skin diseases.
