About

The Radiology and Medical Imaging Fellowship programs aim to fulfill the mission of UVA Health: to provide excellence and innovation in the care of patients, the training of health professionals, and the creation and sharing of health knowledge.

Our fellowships are extensive and enable the fellow to accumulate a broad base of medical knowledge, develop progressively independent interpretive and technical skills under supervision, and become proficient at accurate clinical decision making and consulting. Teaching and research opportunities are tailored to the special interests and talents of each individual.

At the conclusion of the fellowship, the graduate will have the foundation to build an academic career in radiology and medical imaging, advance subspecialty knowledge and skills as an advanced clinical fellow or instructor, or enter community practice.

Top physicians come to the UVA School of Medicine from across the country—and around the world—to complete their Fellowship training in the subspecialty fellowships available in the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging.

Keats Alumni Society

keats society logoThe Keats Society is the alumni society of the University of Virginia’s Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging and serves as a meaningful resource for fellows throughout their training. For those considering UVA for fellowship, the Society represents a unique advantage and a lasting commitment to trainee success.

The Society plays an active role in career development, sponsoring alumni-led lectures that offer real-world insight into career paths across academic and private practice radiology. Fellows benefit from direct access to a strong and engaged alumni network, creating opportunities for mentorship, guidance, and potential job placement.

In addition to academic and career support, the Keats Society fosters a strong sense of community through social and professional events, including a biennial Homecoming Reunion Weekend and an annual RSNA reception. These connections reinforce UVA’s culture of collaboration and lifelong professional relationships.

At UVA Radiology, our fellowships are more than a training program—they are the beginning of lifelong friendships. Through the Keats Society, trainees remain connected, supported, and welcomed back long after they leave.
