UVA Radiology Resident Wayne Dell, MDUniversity of Florida College of Medicine

Diagnostic Radiology

I grew up in Pensacola, FL and initially came to UVa for undergrad, where I split my time performing with the Virginia Gentlemen (a cappella group) and studying Chinese and Economics. I moved to Beijing after college before finally deciding to go into medicine. Medical school took me to UF in Gainesville, FL where I met my husband. I stayed in Gainesville for my transitional year while my husband finished medical school and we found our dog, Kaladin. I hoped to come back to Charlottesville for the scenery, the weather and the people; and my husband didn’t need much convincing after he visited Cville for himself.

We love to travel, and being close to the airports in Cville, Richmond and D.C. have made that very easy. I’m completing the dual pathway in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and will pursue fellowship in Body Radiology. I’m interested in cancer imaging and want to offer theranostics in my future practice.
